Creating a consignment offer

In Showroom213, when creating the offer:

  1. Choose consignment instead of "showroom".
  2. Fill in the owner's name, phone and email: they stay attached to the car.
  3. Complete the record as for your stock: photos (including from the phone by QR code), mileage, VIN, customs and paperwork status.
  4. Enter your selling price and, if you like, the net amount promised to the owner as the purchase price to see your margin.

Selling the car

Once listed, a consignment car behaves like any car in stock:

  • it can be linked to leads and sent by WhatsApp or Telegram;
  • the order takes 4 steps, with a deposit and instalments;
  • the payment status is calculated automatically;
  • the sales contract is generated with the buyer's details (Pro and Business plans).

Good practice

  • Agree on the net price in writing before displaying the car.
  • Check the paperwork at drop-off: a car with missing papers sells poorly.
  • Set a consignment period and review the price if the car stays a long time: Showroom213 shows the number of days in stock on every car.

Frequently asked questions

How do I track my margin on a consignment car?
Enter the net amount agreed with the owner as the purchase price. Showroom213 then shows the estimated margin between that amount and your selling price, and the purchase price can be hidden on screen.
Can I mix consignment and my own stock?
Yes. Each offer shows whether the car is yours or on consignment; both appear in the same stock, with the same filters.
Do I need a contract with the owner?
It is strongly recommended: net price, consignment period, any fees and take-back terms. Showroom213 keeps the owner's details on the offer; the consignment agreement itself is for you and your adviser to draw up.
