Owner or Admin: the two roles
OwnerThe Owner manages billing, branches and accounts. The Admin manages stock, sales and customers for a single branch.
Every account has exactly one of the two roles below — they determine what the person can see and do in the app.
Admin
Manages a single branch: its stock, its sales and its customers. Can't change the subscription or manage branches.
This is the role for a salesperson or an employee working on-site, day to day.
Owner
Sees all branches and manages billing, the subscription, and other accounts. Reserved for the showroom's owner.
This is the only role that can invite new members, change plans, manage branches, and see overall revenue.
The word "owner" refers to two different things in the app: the account's Owner role, and the owner of a car on a listing (the private seller or company it belongs to). The two are unrelated.
Who should have which role
- In practice, the showroom has a single Owner — the person who created the account and manages the money.
- Any employee who sells cars or follows up on leads gets the Admin role, assigned to their branch.
- An Admin can never change their own role, and only an Owner can change someone's role.
