Lead or Client: What's the Difference
A lead is someone who's interested. A client is someone with a recorded sale. These are two different objects in Showroom213, even if you call them both a customer in real life.
The rule
A lead is a person interested in a car. A client is a person with a recorded order.
Don't confuse the two records: a lead doesn't have a sale yet; a client has at least one.
How you move from one to the other
- Manual conversion — from the lead's record, click Convert to client. You can link them to an existing client or create a new one.
- Automatic conversion — once an order tied to this lead is completed, they become a client on their own, with no extra action on your part.
A client can also exist without ever having gone through the lead stage — a client who walks straight into the showroom and buys, or a client imported from a file. Going through a lead first isn't required, only the existence of a sale matters.
